Seriously?

[via serious eats]
I wish I wish I wish I knew what the ingredients are, because there MUST be something odd in these to make them stay solid enough to be stable for handling. Alas, the product’s website did not provide us with the info.
I begged and pleaded that there existed a yin to this yang.
I found a photo, but I could not find any info that a current product exists that puts jelly into convenient unnatural slice form.

Unfortunately, these jems seem to be discontinued.
Now, the peanut butter slices sure save us some time, and if only they were still around, these P.J. slices would save us even MORE time when making a pb&j sandwich…
…but i’m not satisfied.
If only…
IF ONLY,
there existed a product that made life EVEN EASIER FOR US LAZY FUCKERS!!
Oh wait, there is.
Why do people keep messing with the PB&J?
I see products like these as a sign that our species will come to an end one day. When people try to make the easiest food item even easier, there’s something wrong.

I’m waiting for them to come out with “mayonnaise slices” then I could roll one up around a hunk of cheese or a cold weiner and eat it like a wrap. There’d be no carbs, see, so it’d be good for me. Atkins-approved.
Yum.
Ew. Ew. Ew. This is a texture nightmare.
Really, Milly? Mayo slices?
Rachel, I agree… it really does sound like a texture nightmare
McB, its crazy what kind of stuff people invent in order to cater to the lazy-ass people in this world!!! Whatever happened to taking 2 minutes to make your own pbj sandwhich? It probably takes longer to heat up the frozen smuckers kind that it would to make your own!!
Calorie dense food + less effort required to obtain or prepare = more fat.
I have peanut butter in smoothies and like to get spring rolls with peanut sauce when we go out for Thai food, but I am having a hard time thinking of that thing as peanut butter, or even as food, for that matter.
If most peanut butter wasn’t bad enough with all the sugar and crap they add to it… Just eww…
Amazon.com’s product description recommends wrapping them around an apple wedge or a banana. There’s no way it could have a normal texture and I’m imagining something like processed cheese slices.
I wish processed cheese slices would die too. No one needs pressed, badly textured cheese products.
“The average American consumes more than six pounds of peanuts and peanut butter products each year. We’ve got a new way to get your fair share! This quick and nutritious snack contains no cholesterol. Try these slices today and never have Arachibutyrophia (fear of getting peanut butter stuck to the roof of your mouth) again!” – another description from Amazon.
Lucy – 2 minutes? What’s taking you so long?
Drew – “Calorie dense food + less effort required to obtain or prepare = more fat” EXCELLENT!
Kyo – That first recommendation of wrapping it around fruit I think is on the P.B. Slice website. I also imagined it being like processed, wrapped cheese slices. Or, “cheese food” as they call it. VERY odd consistency!
Well, there are the Uncrustables from Smuckers that you find in the freezer at the store. They’re peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that are already made and frozen, pop them in the fridge and they thaw so you can just reach in and get one (yum???). They serve these at my kid’s school – how’s that for a healthy lunch???
They also have uncrustables cheese sandwiches you pop in the microwave and wow, a nasty cheese food sandwich (gross).
REALLY, peanut butter slices. Literally feel like throwing up now. Gross. GROSS.
Wow, we have stumbled upon a new level of lazy, folks!
You’re a twat, UN crust ables are pure awesome
