The "I'll make you thinner" platform is ingenious! When I run for president I'll be sure to make that the basis of my platform.

Watching this has made it more clear to me why processed foods cost so much less than what the government calls healthy food.

I can't believe that Chip Kunde said that the food industry was responding to people's "needs" and that the industry is responding in a very responsible way. Since when did we NEED food with high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweetners, and other goodies that just makes us fat?

I say it's all politics. The people in power probably profit from the foods that make you gain weight and the books, gadgets, and DVDs that are supposed to help you lose the weight you got from eating the government subsidized food in the first place.

It's amazing how smart marketers are; by realizing the current trend in parenting, where parents are too weak to tell their children "no," they are able to make mega profits for themselves and their clients.

All the junk food that is leading children to develop costly diseases is also making the insurance and hospital industries rich, too. I wonder how much money politicians get from these industries. Maybe if campaigns didn't rely so heavily upon money, we wouldn't have issues with advertising to children and marketing unhealthy foods in general.

Thanks for posting this! Definitely an eye-opening, thought-provoking post that posed some interesting thesis topics for grad school and beyond.

I will definitely be a better Secretary of Health and Human Services than Tommy Thompson when I'm appointed in a decade or so.

Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to nutrition.

That secretary of Health and Human Services was just horrible. How could he not see a link between the subsidy program and the american diet? What a joke!

It's too late for me to look at these now, since I have to get up and go hustle for clients tomorrow morning, but I will definitely watch all videos and give my two cents when I do!
