Hey folks. I think it’s time for a good ol’ fireside chat.
So i’ve been rethinking my blog here a bit lately. I wanted to clear up a few things, and also point out that I revised my “Fat Mission” page.
For the most part, I edited some of the language that blatantly makes it sound as though I hate fat people. I don’t want it to sound like i’m just trying to be hurtful. Although I’m still stabbing at peoples negative emotions, I believe I had previously used a few words that were unnecessarily harsh. I also added the following bit:
You may find my writing to be harsh, tactless, without compassion, and very negative. The reason for this is because the people I write about frustrate me immensely. Here’s why:
There are countless blogs, websites, and other resources out there that offer seemingly endless positive support for people looking to make a change in their life for the better. It kills me that there are so many people that complain about their situation, but do nothing about it. They don’t take advantage of the tools that are easily accessible to them. You would think that they would. There must be some underlying reason why these people choose not to make positive changes that would improve their life. I believe some of these people just need to be kicked in the ass, and to have strong emotions drawn from them. My blog just happens to draw out the negative ones. It also draws out a sense of humor for some. I believe no matter what situation in life you are in, you have to have a sense of humor about it.”
Basically, I’m still going to be the fire in your ass. I’m still going to point out that you’re lazy. I’m still going to make you feel uncomfortable if you suspect I’m talking about you. I’m still going to make you wonder if you could do more with the body you were born with, rather than living life sitting on your fat butt.
Why? Because I care.

Its good to know that some people actually care about what is happening in our society!!! I hope that by editing your language you don’t suddenly stop with your hilarious descriptions of fat people (a mass of blubber huge enough to generate your own gravitational pull; Jabba the Hut with a human head; tubby….etc).
Keep up the good work!
You’re entirely onto the right idea by wondering *why* people who are overweight whine & complain but can’t ever seem to DO anything about it.
In as much as you like to point out that there will always be a certain percentage of the population who X,Y,Z, you must also realize that there will always be a certain percentage of the population for whom being overweight has zero to do with being too lazy to use the resources available to them.
Not to say I’ve got it figured out, lol, if you read my blog you’ll see that I”m trying to get to the bottom (no pun intended) of what drives my bad habits.
Merely trying to force a change in bad habits without understanding what drives them is pointless. And what drives bad habits can be a difficult thing to uncover. Indeed.
